Biology 491 - Undergraduate Research Projects
The Biology Department of Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, BC, has identified your institution as a potential participant in our undergraduate research program. We invite your sponsorship of excellence in undergraduate education in the biological sciences. Indicate your interest by submitting a brief description of a research project for consideration by one of our 4th year biology majors. Projects may range from research in progress to preliminary work on that "pet-idea" of yours. Our students would love an opportunity to solve a scientific problem relevant to our regional needs while gaining practical technical experience and an awareness of scientific process.
Primarily, the students seek your time as a technical advisor; although, other resources or opportunities at your disposal are most welcome. Our students offer you their broad training in biology, including freshwater/marine and forest ecology, applied environmental and clinical microbiology, and/or cellular and molecular biology.
